The following are, but not limited to, reasons for disqualification: 1. Not submitting enrollment form completely 2. Not providing proof of identification (i.e. DL, state ID etc with selfie) 3. • Will I be paid for attending the registration, vocal demo, onboarding or certification sessions?"
No, as an independent contractor you are not paid for attending any certification or onboarding sessions. We nor the client do not offer compensation or payment for any certification courses completed either. From time to time, the client may offer incentives to complete certification within a specfic time period.
  • Will there be any certification classes that I can attend?
The client does not offer live certification classes, however, AFC does. All "new agent" certification is online and self-paced. Once onboarding has been completed, you will be sent an email with information on how to complete certification. Although certification is completed at your own pace and on your own time, please keep in mind that it should be completed within a 5-day period from the completion of onboarding. Required sessions to attend are: Registration Tuesday Onboarding Thursday Certification Monday & Wednesday (following onboarding session) All sessions are at 8pm Est. Some help sessions throughout the week will be offered at various times of the day and evening. This assists with everyone's schedules to ensure you have more than one option and more hands-on assistance.
  • How long does it take to complete certification?
This will vary from agent to agent. On average, agents have completed new agent certification within 6 - 8 hours. We recommend scheduling your self-paced certification when you have time to thoroughly review the modules, exercises, and quizzes in order to repeat (if necessary) and retain as much of the material as possible. It is also important to note that certification should be completed within a 14-day period from registration to test call phase.
  • I previously contracted with the pledge drive once before, am I eligible to return?"
Thank you for your continued interest in working with our pledge drive project, please complete and submit a new enrollment form. Eligibility to return will be based on individual circumstances. If you have any further questions, please email info@MyResourceProgram.com and someone will respond within 5 business days.
  • What if I reside in one of the states the client does not contract in?
The pledge drive client currently does not accept applications from residents of California, Delaware, Massachusetts, Louisiana, West Virginia, Wyoming, Vermont, and South Dakota. Unfortunately, due to the residential state laws regarding independent contractor requirements, we do not have opportunities in the above states at this time. You can always check back on our site for any updates for your location. If you wish to check out other opportunities that may contract in your state, visit www.MyResourceProgram.com and click ENROLL NOW to view open opportunities.
  • Once certified, can I pick my own schedule?"
Yes, you select and maintain your own schedule from the client's online scheduling tool. You can select to work the times and days that work with your personal and professional schedule. During campaigns, our highest call volume typically occurs evenings, nights, overnights and weekends - which offers plenty of shift opportunities! While there are no minimum or maximum hours you are required to schedule, the client does look at agents who have been reliable and consistent in scheduling and call processing when contract renewals and extensions are available.
  • What are the hours available for calls?
The great news is, this client is open 24/7 365 days a year. They never close so that means more opportunities for you to service when you want!!!
  • How many hours can I work? Do you require a minimum number of hours?
No, the client does not have a minimum number of hours or shifts required each week/month. However, we do look at those agents who are consistently active - whether it is actively working shifts, actively learning/certifying for other clients, or actively improving and honing your skills within our practice scripts - first for contract renewals. The client would prefer that active contractors service a minimum of 15 hours per week during drive periods and 20 hours per month during non-drive periods.
  • What is an independent contractor?
An independent contractor is a person, business, or corporation that provides goods or services to another entity under terms specified in a contract or within a verbal agreement. This form is merely a report of the money paid; independent contractors do not have income taxes withheld like regular employees. If you decide to contract with About Face Communications, you are considered an independent contractor, NOT an employee. Agents providing their customer service skills to our clients are operating as Independent Contractors. As an independent contractor, agents are responsible for maintaining office requirements and are responsible for reporting earned income to the IRS annually during each specified filing period. We provide a 1099 for those agents who have earned over $600 during any calendar year.
  • Will I receive any benefits such as health insurance and paid vacation?
Since you would be an Independent Contractor, you would not be eligible to receive any employee benefits such as health insurance or paid vacation time through About Face Communications or our clients.
  • On an average day, how many calls can an agent expect to handle?"
Call volume varies based on agent certification. The more skills you are certified in the more potential for call volume and income. Due to scheduling inconsistencies among agents and agent certification, we are unable to provide an average call volume per agent. Those that schedule during peak times do see higher call volume. Peak scheduling during campaign occurs during evening, nights and weekends.
  • Do you have a referral program?
Yes, for active agents only: For EACH referral you make (lists you in the "Referred by" field) that successfully completes certification AND works 30 days, you will you get an extra $10 on your invoice. You will need to contact us once the agent has worked their 30 days. Once confirmed, we will add the incentive to your invoice. Please note they must put your name in the "referred by" field to be eligible for the incentive. Once complete, please email info@MyResourceProgram.com.
  • How much can I earn?
For inbound phone work, agents earn between 25-30 cents ($0.20 - $0.32) per talk time minute. New agents (who have never contracted with us) will start at 25 cents ($0.25) per talk minutes. Our client also offers various bonus incentives for adhering to schedule and average talk time. Agents can earn up to 35 cents ($0.35) per talk minute while servicing in secondary status. We also offer other projects, such as emails, tickets, and chat which pay at different rates. These opportunities are offered to active competitive agents only.
  • What if I need help once I begin taking calls?
As an agent for About Face Communications, you will have access to all completed certification materials and resources. You will also have access to Charlotte, the director of HR & Client Liaison every step of the way. She hosts individual and group sessions each week for guidance, assistance and support. You will have access to the client FAQs located within each script, our knowledge base and chat support to assist you when you are handling live calls. When scheduled to work, you should be signed into the client chat room where we have Chat Room Monitors (CRMs) available 24/7 to assist with any call questions you may have. You have everything at your fingertips to successfully handle our calls!
  • If I am not available for an extended period, can my contract be terminated?"
Communication is key! About Face Communication and our client's offer various levels of "inactivity" which can still be maintained during a contract period. We recommend using the self-deactivation option that best fits your needs. If you need longer, then please communicate this using our internal ticketing system. Depending on the circumstances, we'll be able to work with you on a case-by-case basis.
  • Can my contract be terminated?
Yes, monthly contracts can be terminated by you, About Face Communications and/or the client at any given time. Typical reasons for contract terminations related to quality concerns and/or contract breaches.
  • What type of clients does this project service?
Many of our campaigns are fundraising nonprofit organizations. We handle a wide range of donation contacts and customer service contacts for PBS and NPR stations nationwide, as well as child, veteran, spiritual and pet/animal-friendly organizations.
